Researchers from Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have made significant contributions to pave the way for the development of a new class of medicine for schizophrenia in more than 30 years.
New medication for the treatment of schizophrenia
The US FDA has approved a new medication for schizophrenia. Cobenfy is a combination of two medicines – xanomeline and trospium, that improves the negative and cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia while minimising side effects.
