Developing next-generation medicines for mental health.

Better Medicines aims to develop new therapeutics by conducting research into how chemical compounds interact with the brain.

The combined neuroscience research of Monash University and the University of Melbourne is ranked in the top 10 worldwide, while the former is rated second for pharmacy and pharmacology.

We draw on this wealth of expertise, and supplement it with cutting edge studies across areas including medicinal chemistry, drug delivery and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The ultimate goal is to find ‘antibiotics for the mind’ that require minimal dosing with a quick onset of action, have fewer side-effects, and are effective for longer periods.
